Bridges
A bridge closes the gap a missing tooth leaves behind - restoring your bite, your speech, and your smile.
Your teeth work together in everything from eating to speaking, and a missing tooth changes all of it. A fixed bridge anchors a replacement tooth to crowns on the neighboring teeth; a Maryland bridge bonds a replacement to the adjacent teeth with tooth-colored bands, often for front teeth; a cantilever bridge works when anchor teeth sit on only one side of the gap. We will recommend the right design for your mouth - and discuss every alternative first.
Types
- Fixed bridge - the most common design, a replacement tooth carried by two crowns
- Maryland bridge - bonded bands, typically for front teeth
- Cantilever bridge - anchored from one side
